Fatih Tokatli
Fatih Tokatli graduated from Bilkent University School of Applied Languages in 1999. Following his military service as a reserve officer, he worked in the management team of an EU-funded project between 2002-2005, during which he was involved in the reform of the Turkish VET system. He joined Turkish Confederation of Employer Associations (TİSK) in 2005 and was responsible for TİSK’s international relations, focusing on EU affairs and was a member of BUSINESSEUROPE’s Social Affairs and Industrial Affairs Committees on behalf of TİSK. In 2010, Mr. Tokatlı became Head of Industry, Services and Agriculture Department at TÜSİAD, Turkish Industry and Business Association. In that role he was responsible for development of TÜSİAD’s positions on industrial affairs, environmental issues and sectoral issues while coordinating sectoral working groups from defence industry and transportation to tourism and agriculture. In 2012, he joined Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries (MESS), Turkey’s first and largest employers’ association.
He is currently Director of External Affairs, Training and Projects at MESS. In that role, he is responsible for MESS’s international relations, representing MESS at Council of European Employers of Metal, Engineering and Technology based Industries (CEEMET) in Brussels. He also participates in the annual International Labour Conference in Geneva as part of Turkish Employer Delegation. Mr. Tokatlı manages training services provided by MESS and coordinates MESS positions and actions on industrial affairs, CSR and VET issues. He is also responsible for project development and implementation on behalf of MESS. Mr. Tokatlı has an MA from Bilkent University on history and international relations and is a PhD candidate at the same university focusing on strategic studies.
